  • 1/4 cup 30g powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk to thin
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Transfer to a piping bag (or a resealable plastic bag with the tip cut off) and refrigerate until ready to use.

Make the Waffles:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, oil, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.

  • Preheat your waffle iron and grease it lightly with nonstick spray or melted butter.

Assemble and Cook:

  • Spoon about 1/4 cup of waffle batter onto the preheated waffle iron and spread slightly.

Make the Cream Cheese Icing:

  • In a bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk, mixing until the icing is thin enough to drizzle. Add more milk if needed.

Serve:

  • Drizzle the warm waffles with the cream cheese icing.
  • Optional: Top with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar for extra flair.
