Serves-6 Prep time- 10 minutes Cook time- 40 minutes This Sausage Biscuit and Gravy Casserole is the ultimate breakfast and always a family favorite crowd pleaser! Biscuit dough, sausage, white gravy, eggs and cheese come together to create one amazing casserole that can even be prepped the night before! This is always a hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 10 ounce can refrigerated large biscuit dough (I use the “Grands” kind)
  • 1 pound breakfast pork sausage browned and crumbled
  • 1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups milk divided
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste heavy on the black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray a 9x13 with non-stick spray.
  • Cut your biscuits into fourths and place all over the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Place your cooked crumbled sausage over the biscuit layer.
  • Whisk your eggs with ½ cup of milk and pour over the casserole.
  • Next in a large skillet (I just use the one I cooked the sausage in) over medium heat melt your butter and whisk in the flour to make a roux.
  • Next whisk in your 2 cups of milk and whisk until it thickens and just comes to a bubble.
  • Salt and pepper the white gravy, I always do a little extra black pepper.
  • Pour the gravy over the casserole.
  • Top with cheese.
  • Bake until the biscuits are cooked through, 30-40 minutes.
  • Garnish with scallions if you like.
  • Serve!

Notes

Keep leftovers in an airtight container in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
